How to Properly Attribute Icons When Using the Iconfinder API in a Web App?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently building a React-based web app where users can search and use icons through the Iconfinder API. Everything’s working smoothly on the technical side, but I want to make sure I’m complying properly with the attribution requirements for the icons, especially those under Creative Commons licenses.

Here are my specific questions:

What is the recommended way to display attribution when icons are dynamically loaded via the API?

Is it enough to show the designer name and link near the icon, or should it appear in a separate credits section?

For icons used in downloadable content (e.g., exported designs), do I need to embed attribution inside the downloaded file or just in the UI?

I want to make sure I’m giving proper credit while keeping the UI clean and user-friendly. If anyone has experience with this or knows best practices, I’d really appreciate your advice!

Thanks in advance
